Who Are We?
Security Service Malta Ltd forms part of Security Services S.r.l., a leading Italian group of companies established in 1980. In 1996 Security Service Malta Ltd was set up and took over the local operations of Securicor Malta Ltd, which had been operating successfully in Malta since 1992. Whilst Security Service Malta Ltd employs over 250 personnel, mainly full-timers, the number of employees of the whole group of companies, with branches in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin and Malta, now exceeds 2000.
With over 25 years of experience in the security industry, our Management team is proactive. Our management team has undergone intensive training at our parent company in Rome, in order to ensure that the services carried out are of the highest standards, the best quality, and tailor-made to suit the individual customer's requirements.
We are involved in creating business solutions for our local client portfolio, which range from private residences to large corporations. We operate in the security services industry and our services range from static guarding, transportation of valuables of any kind & ATM management, monitoring of surveillance hardware like CCTV and/or Alarm systems with a prompt on-site response, to even transporting surgical equipment between private hospitals during operations. Other ancillary services are offered to present a one-stop-shop with a complete solution for any security requirements that may be requested from us.
Senior Management
Security Service Malta Ltd is made up of a strong and experienced management team that works together practically since the inception of the business since 1996. The team has been a major contributing factor in the success of the day-to-day security operations of many of our clients.
Bernard Vella
Managing Director
Mr Vella, a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK and a fellow member of the Malta Institute of Accountants, joined Security Service Malta Ltd in 1997 and was responsible for the development of financial strategies in line with the business objectives and in conformity with industry standards. Bernard has been extensively involved in the setting up and automation of the finance department and was instrumental in implementing new software systems. He is specialized in labour law and has gained extensive experience in the legislation regulating the security industry.
Charles Micallef
Operations Manager
Mr Micallef joined our company in 1998. He got promoted through the various ranks in relatively short periods of time and nowadays he uses his valuable experience to make sure our Company offers a high quality service. He monitors processes, creates solutions and streamlines operations to ensure that the effectiveness of controls and procedures that are in place are effectively enforced. He ensures that there is harmony between the supervisors and senior officers, vital for a strong, collaborative and efficient team.
Aarona Borg
Financial Controller / Internal Audit
Ms Borg Has been employed with our company since 2015. A qualified accountant and auditor by profession, Ms Borg applies her enthusiasm all across the board and supports the core functions of all the systems. Through her valuable skills and experience, she examines, coordinates and simplifies processes and provides recommendations for process improvements on all levels. Ms Borg supports the customisation and implementation of new software platforms vital for optimising our resources.
